Pre-Trip Planning Timeline
Traveler Information Form
About three months prior to departure, you'll receive an email from the Inspirato Only experiences team with the Traveler Information Form. In this form, we'll ask you to provide details such as contact information for each traveler, flight and travel information, and selection of trip add-ons, excursions, etc.
We'll take this information and begin planning your trip and building your personal itinerary. We'll be in touch with you after receiving the completed form should any follow-up or confirmation be necessary.
Bon Voyage! Itinerary and Final Trip Details
About three weeks prior to departure, you'll receive an email from the Inspirato Only experiences team with your personal itinerary, suggested packing list, contact information for your on-site Inspirato hosts, pre-trip Zoom call details, and more.
What you need to know
Airport and Transportation Information
We suggest flying in and out of Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF). The Louisville airport is a 15-minute drive to your accommodations.
Secondary Arrival and Departure Airport Options
- Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is a 1.5-hour drive to your accommodations.
Private Options
- Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) is a 15-minute drive to your accommodations.
Transfers are not included in your package, but we can assist in booking private transportation for you. Options will be available in your Traveler Information Form.
Your Inspirato Only experience package includes private shuttle transportation between the Hotel Distil and Churchill Downs Racetrack on Friday and Saturday.
Packing List
Women's Dress Code
- The dress: Pick something comfortable but classy. The weather in Kentucky in May is warm and you will not be able to change when you get to the track.
- Shoes: While women do wear heels or wedges, we recommend bringing flip-flops or a flat to switch into before and after the event.
- Hats: Hats are the most famous fashion accessory at the Derby. You may bring your own hat or shop at The Hat Ladies pop-up shop at our Private Welcome Cocktail Reception on Thursday night. The Hat Ladies can also help add flair to a hat you already own.
- Custom Derby hats may be created in advance with The Hat Girls. Ask the Inspirato Only experiences team for additional details.
- Kentucky Oaks Day: As an Inspirato member, you will get the chance to compete against 500 other ladies to be crowned “Best Dressed” for the Kentucky Oaks Day. The tradition is to wear pink on this day. Learn more about Kentucky Oaks Day here.
Men's Dress Code
- The suit: You will see men in seersucker suits and bright patterned ties, as well as more traditional, neutral-colored suits. Dress for comfort, but don’t be afraid to add a splash of color.
- Shoes: You will want to wear comfortable shoes, such as loafers.

Churchill Downs Racetrack on-site bag size allowances
- One small clutch purse per attendee (no larger than 4.5” x 6”)
- One large clear bag per attendee–either a one-gallon clear Ziploc-style storage bag or a 12”W x 6”H x 12”D clear tote bag
- Travel and medical insurance information
- Credit and debit cards (Be sure that you have contacted your bank about your upcoming travel plans!)
- Gratuities are included in your trip. Note: Tipping is neither required nor expected, but for members who want to further recognize exceptional service, we will provide gratuity envelopes at the end of your stay.

Approximately 20 Inspirato members and passholders and their family, friends, and guests will be in the group.
The minimum age is 16 years old.
Within three business days of booking, cancel for a full refund. After three business days, reservations are non-refundable unless Inspirato is able to rebook the package. If Inspirato is able to rebook, the Inspirato member will receive 90% back in Travel Credits. If applicable, this would be refunded one day after the package is rebooked.
