Overview
Palazzo Margherita offers a luxurious vacation in the charming hilltop town of Bernalda in Southern Italy, the birthplace of Francis Ford Coppola's grandfather Agostino. Originally built in 1892, Francis purchased the palazzo in 2004 and completely restored it to the boutique hotel it is today. Explore the many white-sand beaches along the Ionian Sea, including a private beach club, or the ancient cave dwellings in the area. Walk through town and sample authentic Italian food and wine from friendly locals. Back at the hotel, learn how to prepare traditional dishes in a hands-on class at the Eat-In Kitchen or take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool.
